Membership Committee
Mission: Actively recruits Chamber membership from business, civic and educational sectors of the Greater Salem area by promoting membership benefits and orienting new members towards active participation.
The Membership Committee is focused on bringing new members into the Chamber, making them feel welcome and helping them recognize the benefits their business will experience. Members of the committee are available to answer questions about membership cost and benefits. Committee members also greet new members at Business After Hours and introduce them to other business professionals in their contact sphere. In addition, they accompany New Members to the New Member Reception where they introduce them to the Board of Directors and various Committee Chairs.
Many business relationships have been sparked after an introduction at a Business After Hours or committee meeting. Individuals on the membership committee are always on the lookout for new businesses in the towns the chamber serves and often will go to new businesses and welcome the owners into the community and invite them to explore the many benefits the chamber has to offer. This year the committee has made a goal of acquiring 10 new members every month. We are working very hard to achieve this goal and are looking for new members to join our committee to help us succeed.
In addition, we have just completed assembling bags with goodies and the Brand New Directory. We have made a big dent in our deliveries, and will complete it over the next couple of weeks. If your company has NOT received a new Chamber Directory please contact the Chamber Office as soon as possible to schedule delivery. We are also starting preparations for another membership drive for early 2007. Thanks to all of the members of this team for their hard work and great effort.
